Prof. Hui Ma

Northeastern University, China

Biography:

Hui Ma is a professor and doctoral advisor at Northeast University, recognized as a "Global Highly Cited Researcher" in the engineering field by Clarivate Analytics in 2023. He has been listed as a top cited scholar in China by Elsevier from 2021 to 2023 and was honored in 2011 under the “New Century Talent Support Program” by the Ministry of Education. His primary research areas include the dynamics of rotating machinery and fault diagnosis. Ma has led three projects under the National Key Research and Development Program and two special projects related to aircraft engines, as well as four National Natural Science Foundation projects. He has authored two monographs and holds 44 national invention patents. Ma has received the Elsevier Crossley Best Paper Award and three second-class awards in natural sciences from the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Province, and the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published 160 papers indexed by SCI, which have been cited over 4,400 times, with 13 papers listed as ESI Highly Cited Papers.

Prof. Meftah Hrairi

International Islamic University Malaysia, Malaysia

Biography:

Meftah Hrairi received his BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University, Canada in 1999. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) where he has more than seventeen years of teaching and research experience. Prior to joining IIUM, Prof. Hrairi was a Senior Solutions Consultant at Gillani Inc., a Senior Application Engineer at i2 Technologies inc., both located in Dallas, Texas, USA, and a research engineer at Precitech inc. located in Quebec City, Canada. Prof. Hrairi has expertise in Structural Health Monitoring, Structural Repair, Finite Element Analysis, Oil & Gas, Thermal Systems, and advanced materials and metal forming techniques to effectively form lightweight alloys for potential applications in the transportation industry. His work, which has spanned various industries including aerospace, automotive, materials, manufacturing and petrochemical, has been already published through several peer-reviewed journal papers, conference papers, posters & presentations. Prof. Hrairi is a regular instructor at IIUM in the areas of NDT, FEA, structural mechanics, materials and manufacturing processes in automotive and aerospace applications.
